The Bronze Beaded Necklace

Using glass triangle beads with a classic tubular peyote stitch pattern creates

 added texture and dimension in this necklace.

 In more subdued light you can see the added sparkle of tiny delica beads

 over stitched onto the necklace.

Experiment With Texture

I love the shape of peanut beads and thought it would be fun to try using them in a tubular peyote stitch necklace. Two colors of gold tinged raspberry beads were blended in this tubular rope necklace.

The end caps were made with brass bead caps, gold glass pearls and pink large hole beads.

 

 

The next necklace has a rich earthy texture that was achieved using a random mix of 11/0 and 6/0 Chinese glass seed beads in metallic silver and brown.

 

 

The polymer clay end caps were made by me.

Heart in Hand Coral Necklace

This was a fun project using 16 count tubular peyote stitch. I have never gone this wide using size 11 seed beads and decided to reinforce the interior with clear plastic tubing. This helps to keep its shape and avoid crinkling where the necklace naturally bends.

The necklace aquired its name from the little "heart in hand" charm attached at the clasp. I almost called it "hugs" for the XOX sewn into the pattern. Can you see it?
