Spring Daffodil |
1. Made the 2.5 mile hike up a small mountain nearby. Saw 2 chuckwallas and many butterflies.
2. Passing other hikers on their way down I was warned about a rattlesnake, sleeping near the top.
3. Missed the snake. Could not find it. ... My little drama for the day.
4. It was a clear day and very beautiful at the top. Sorry, no camera pics.
5. Mom died on an Easter Sunday quite a while ago. Every year, I remember her death on April 12th, on the following day I remember the day of her actual birth, April 13th. Coincidence? ...hardly.
Have you ever noticed important dates come together in interesting and special ways?
...Not sure if I really understand or know how to write about randomness but will keep working on it.
ran-dom adj Having no specific pattern, purpose, or objective: random movements.
Doesn't everything have purpose?

Beautiful daffodils. I am glad you missed that rattlesnake!!! Sometimes I wonder when people pass away at certain times. My grandmother passed away just after turning 90 and I wonder if she just held on until then wanting to reach that milestone birthday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful daffodils!
ReplyDeleteI would be especially glad to miss that snake!
Have a wonderful week-end!

ReplyDeleteStunning photos! I'm glad you missed the rattlesnake. My father died right after his 76th birthday. I can't think of his birthday--July 1--without thinking of the day he died--July 9.

Lovely pink daffodils, like them so much more than the yellow ones which are often too bright. Sure glad you missed that rattle-snake...not a good encounter.

ReplyDeleteYou do great with your random thoughts and pictures!
I hope you got some shots while on your hike. I am pretty sure I don't want to see a rattle snake on a hike in the wild.
I still have my Mom and pray for her everyday. Now that I have a smart phone we text a lot. Mom's are special people and it sounds like you were close with yours.
Wow, am I the only one who doesn't know what a chuckwalla is?
ReplyDeleteWell you asked...here's a little info from some of the local experts:

ReplyDeleteThe daffodils are so pretty. I'm looking forward to hiking - we don't have rattlesnakes, thank goodness! I don't think I would have wanted to see one. I agree that there does seem to be a significance with certain dates. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils are so lovely. I find it very interesting that dates seem to fall together in surprising ways. I enjoyed visiting your list from nancy's meme.
ReplyDeleteSnakes of any kind rattle my cage!
ReplyDeleteYikes! Snake! Gorgeous flowers!

ReplyDeleteDon't think I've seen daffodils with colours like that - beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAs for 'coincidences' in dates - yes. My grandfather passed away the day our twin girls turned 5, and my father-in-law passed away on the day between our anniversary and Father's Day - bittersweet.
Thanks for following - you are my 300th (!) follower, and I'm your 111th.
