Inspired By Design Challenge: Life at the Lake
This month's challenge by Jennifer Cameron over at Art Jewelry Elements was so wonderful I just had to jump in!
I was immediately drawn to all the grasses with the the little red and pink flowers peaking through. It wasn't until while making my bracelet that I began to remember the lakeside house I used to visit when I was very young. The house belonged to my aunt and uncle and it sat upon a big wooded hill. There was a long winding trail that lead down to the lake and I remember tromping down to the water's edge with my mom and cousins to pick cattails and wade along the muddy shore.
The house had a small office that my uncle kept off the screened front porch. I remember being told to be careful not to touch anything there. My favorite thing to look at in his office was a collection of decoys and wooden duck calls. ...Sometimes when we little cousins would become bored and unruly, my uncle would take out the various duck calls and show us how to quack.

And so here is the inspiration piece:
An 18 strand seed bead bracelet featuring a cattail bugle beaded focal, bead tatted jump rings and a watery green lampwork bead by Tom Gromwall at The Jewelweaver.
Thanks Jennifer for sharing your photos, inspiring me to create something... and remember ;)
